At this point in my coaching journey, I'm pretty convinced that the majority of tension we experience comes from conflicting stories and emotions. For example, if we have the story that... Doing what I want to do will end in failure. And the stories and feelings associated with that belief go largely unexamined, then that belief is calling the shots. But when we can learn to acknowledge, validate, honor, and work with the emotions, they no longer control us and create drag.
